Brandon and I met in Mr. Weyand's English Class our Sophomore year of High School. I was moved to the back of the class because I kept talking, and I sat right next to this big football player who had the longest eyelashes I'd ever seen. My first words to him were "Hi, I'm Katie. You have really pretty eyelashes!" Those would be the first words that would lead us into eternity. We were best friends all throughout High School. When I moved to Las Vegas my Junior year, he was one of the very few that I stayed in contact with. For the last two years of High School, we always wanted to, I quote "hook up", but never got the chance. We he had a girlfriend, I was single. When I had a boyfriend, he was single. Fate never seemed to grant us the chance to see how we'd go together.
Upon graduation, Brandon went to Snow College to play football and I moved up to Provo. The next summer, Brandon came home and we met up at a get together in the canyon. After our "two hour walk" away from the rest of the group, we took a shot at dating that summer. I made it difficult, I would break up with him nearly every other weekend. The poor boy, I still don't know why he stayed with me. That summer was hands down the best of my life. Lagoon, Boondocks, Jet Skiing, and spending the best summer I'd ever had with my best friend, someone who made me laugh constantly and always put me first. Why we didn't get engaged that summer, who knows. Ok, actually it was me, there was something wrong with me that's for sure :) 
I moved to St George at the end of the summer and Brandon went back to college. We ended it mutually deciding that it was fun but we were going our separate ways. Ha. We text each other constantly that whole year. We only saw each other once, at Christmas, until the 24th of July, when I went up north for a family reunion. The first time I saw him, my stomach literally dropped to my feet. I'd forgotten how ridiculously attractive he was. I had butterflies the whole night. From that point on, every chance we got, we'd get together. After my graduation from Cosmetology School and Brandon went back to Snow, I traveled up to his football game and spent the weekend with his family. I'd have to say that is when it hit me, how strongly I felt for him. The next few months went by with travels to and from St George and Ephraim. Many times Brandon drove till 2 in the morning, just because he wanted to come down and take me to dinner. How could you not fall in love with a man who is willing to do that for you? He proposed on February 24th, 2010 and we were married May 7th in the St George Temple.
